How to Help

How can you help?

First off, we would like to thank you for your interest in the Millennium Village Project. Because of our high expectations, many people feel that they can do nothing as an individual to help support the cause. While it is true that we work closely with many student groups, individual effort is equally as essential. It is important to know that as an individual, there are so many things you can do to help.

Though it may seem the most basic of support, the best thing any one person can do is spread the word. We hope that our ideas are far reaching, and the best way to achieve that is by informing others. We encourage everyone to tell their friends, dorm mates, RA’s, teachers, acquaintances, and anyone they are comfortable with to spread the world about the Millennium Village Project

Beyond that basic level of support, here are many other things you can do. Join the NC MVP team or participate in a NC MVP event! If you want more information on how you can help, please contact Caroline Phillips at UNC and Shilpa Modi at Duke.

How can your organization help?

  1. Write a letter endorsing the Millennium Village Project. These letters will serve as a demonstration of unified student support to show potential donors that this student-lead initiative is worth investing in.
  2. Host an independent event that relates to or supports MVP. This could include hosting events such as dances, speakers, and movie screenings.
  3. Look for MVP events and support them throughout the year!

We gladly accept support at any level. If you have any more questions, concerns, or would like to request a model draft letter, feel free to contact Caroline Phillips at UNC and Shilpa Modi at Duke.
