Millennium Village Project’s ventures reach out to the campus and the local community, as well as collaborating with Millennium Promise to offer internships in Millennium Villages. This year, MVP members at UNC designed a course on best sustainable development practices, which is being taught in fall 2008 in the International Studies curriculum. We have partnered with local schools and churches to educate members of our community about the global poverty crisis and the Millennium Development Goals. We are also working together with the Earth Institute, Columbia University, the NGO Millennium Promise, and the United Nations Millennium Development Programme to offer a summer internship aimed to help students provide accountability in the Millennium Villages, as well as to gain personal experience in development work.
