Development in Practice:
A critical look at the Millennium Village Project
Date: March 30, 2007 | Time: 2:30-4:30 pm | Location: Campus Y Building
Register for the Forum Today!
Featuring: Mr. Joel Negin, the Millennium Village Project HIV/AIDS Coordinator and Senior Project Adviser to the Access Project at Columbia University’s Earth Institute
Mr. Negin will be offering a valuable first-hand perspective of the MVP model in Kenya, including information on the status of our partner village, Marenyo. Mr. Negin is an expert in health system development, gender empowerment, and microeconomics.
The goal of this forum is to promote a deeper understanding of the Millennium Village Project, as well as offer critical insight into development approaches overall. We further envision this forum as an opportunity for students to see their areas of study actively applied to ending extreme poverty, one of the most pressing global issues of our time. Furthermore, this forum works to serve our continuing goal of encouraging collaboration between the disciplines, and across multiple universities.
